Duties:• Maintain, evaluate and troubleshoot the servers.
• Maintain production and development databases (Oracle 9i/10g, MySQL).
• Provide support and problem resolution to application or system issues.
• Provide support to software development team.
• Perform application build and release management.
• Backup/restore as needed on Oracle databases.
• Provide 24/7 support to production servers and application services.
• Install, configure and deploy new servers.
• Co-location (data centre) management.
• Vendor relations.
Qualifications:• Experienced in Solaris, Linux and Windows operating environment.
• Core knowledge of internet protocols (e.g. SMTP, HTTP, DNS).
• Core knowledge of firewall, load balancing, and SSL.
• Knowledge of Database Administration and Structured Query Language
• Knowledge of Storage Management, Backup & Recovery.
• Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting the interaction between databases, operating systems, and applications.
• Experience supporting people who depend on the availability and proper operation of production IT environments.
• Current knowledge of malware and relevant security solutions.
• Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Willingness to provide after-hours, distance and escalation support.
• 3+ years work experience in system administration.
• BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
